The Annabelle Festival Book Sale begins on Friday, June 12 from 4-6pm with a Friends Appreciation sale. Anyone can become a Friend for $5.00! A public sale will be held from 8am - 2pm on Saturday, June 13 and a bag sale will be on Sunday, June 14 from 1-3pm.

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.
Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.

Embark on a journey through time, celebrating a 100-year legacy of history, resilience and discovery. Sam A. Baker State Park will celebrate it's anniversary on June 13, 2026. There will be van tours to the Mudlick Mountain Fire Tower, self guided tours of the CCC Lodge, exhibits, demonstrations, old-time games and live music. Admission to the event is free.
Join us for an interactive adventure as preschoolers explore zoo displays and create their own animal habitats! Building on last week’s Design a Zoo Exhibit program, children will enjoy hands-on learning about their favorite animals while designing unique habitats. This engaging program repeats on June 13. The Ste. Genevieve French Heritage Festival is a cultural celebration of treasured traditions, skills, cuisines, stories and musical talents of the French Creole Corridor in and around Ste. Genevieve. Held annually on the second Saturday in June, the French Heritage Festival features musical performances, storytelling, living history skill demonstrations, games and frontier folk dancing in a family friendly event set among the amazing and rare 18th century architecture of the Ste. Genevieve historic district.
Join us for Sensory Craft Time, a welcoming and accessible crafting session designed especially for adults with mental, behavioral, or physical disabilities. This month, unleash your creativity as we decorate tile coasters with vibrant alcohol inks! All materials are provided, and no experience is necessary. Two sessions are offered each month—please register for only one. Everyone is welcome! (ages 18+)

Unleash your creativity at our Crafternoon: Book Bedazzling Workshop! This hands-on event invites adults of all ages to transform their favorite book covers with sparkling gems and creative flair. To join, register and email a photo of your book cover to victoria@capelibrary.org (subject: Book Bedazzling), along with which part of the cover you’d like to decorate. Bring your own book; we’ll provide the gems and supplies. Registration is required—secure your spot and let your imagination shine! (ages 18+)

Dances are taught and prompted to old-time music, sometimes live. Come early for extra instuction. Come with or without a partner. Children and families are welcome. Age 8 and up can learn the dance easily. $5 contribution is requested for hall rental and musicians. Look on YouTube for Contra Dance, Cape Girardeau, MO to see a sampling of our dances.

Celebration 250 - MO! welcomes everyone to this community event, rain or shine. Along with these great performances, we will provide tents, seating & options for food/drink for purchase. There will also be information on various local groups that serve our community, as well as merchandise for purchase. You are welcome to bring a lawn chair, cooler, or anything else that may help you enjoy this free outdoor event.
