The Cape Girardeau County Historical Society & Old McKendree Chapel Association will host What's It Worth? An Antiques Evaluation Fair on September 20.
Ever wondered what that old vase, painting, or pocket watch might be worth? This event will feature antiques and jewelry experts from Selkirk Auction House of St. Louis. Everyone is encouraged to bring antique treasures for evaluation by seasoned experts at $10 per item.
The antiques appraisal event will take place on Saturday, September 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at New McKendree South Campus, 1770 S Hope Street, Jackson, MO.

Step back in time at The Antique Mall of Ste. Genevieve at Pj's at The Mall (6 pm-9 pm) as Cherry and Jerry bring you some hit tunes and rarely played gems from the ragtime era. With a focus on ragtime, early blues, and jazz, you'll hear enduring songs such as St. Louis Blues and The Entertainer along with great songs that they've dusted off and brought back to life.
“Cherry & Jerry” is Isaac Cherry on percussion and Jerry Rabushka on piano. They focus mainly on music from 1900-1920: ragtime, early blues and jazz, and popular songs from back in the day. Performances include well-known tunes such as The Entertainer, St. Louis Blues, Georgia on My Mind, Stormy Weather, etc., as well as rarely played music from the era, for a unique take on America’s first pop music. The St. Louis duo has toured music of the ragtime era throughout the region.

The Cape Girardeau County Historical Society will welcome Joe Newberry in Concert on October 7.
An award-winning singer-songwriter, Joe Newberry was a frequent guest on “Prairie Home Companion,” has played the Grand Ole Opry, and is known for his clawhammer banjo playing and guitar.
The Joe Newberry concert will take place on Tuesday, October 7, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau County History Center at 102 S. High Street in Jackson. Refreshments will be served, and a suggested $20 donation will be accepted at the door.

The Department of Music at Southeast will present “I Will Sing” on October 9.
The first choral concert of the season will feature the University and Chamber Choirs in celebration of singing, community, and the impact of music on the world. Selections include Michael Englehardt’s “I Will Sing” and an arrangement of India Arie’s* “I Am Light” by Darita Seth.
The performance will take place Thursday, October 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Bedell Performance Hall on Southeast’s River Campus.

SEMO's Department of Music will present Pluckophony: Faculty Recital with Jesse Steele on October 10.
The first concert in this unique series will feature SEMO adjunct faculty instructor Jesse Steele on lute, guitar, and banjo sharing the music that secured his fascination with plucked instruments.
Pluckophony: Faculty Recital with Jesse Steele will take place on Friday, October 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the Shuck Music Recital Hall at Southeast’s River Campus. The recital is free and open to the public.
