Dances are taught and prompted to old-time music, sometimes live. Come early for extra instuction. Come with or without a partner. Children and families are welcome. Age 8 and up can learn the dance easily. $5 contribution is requested for hall rental and musicians. Look on YouTube for Contra Dance, Cape Girardeau, MO to see a sampling of our dances.

Join youth-certified yoga instructor, Maggie Salem, for a half hour of toddler mindful movement. Yoga mats will be provided.

Each month, join a party of adventurers and work together to complete your mission. No experience is required and pre-made characters will be provided.

Join us for a special series on healthy nutrition and exercise. This series is led by Nutrition Program Associate, Mandie Sullivan from the University of Missouri Extension Services.
Learn hands-on techniques for making easy, healthy, and delicious meals during the class and then take home the recipe to make for your family! During this series, we will also learn about easy exercises you can do at home, how to save money while eating healthy, and information on the MyPlate categories.
In this series, each session will build on the previous sessions. Participants who pledge a good faith effort to attend all lessons, are eligible to request one small kitchen appliance item, to receive upon completion of the program. The items to choose from include: Air Fryer, Blender, Crock pot, Food Processor, Insta Pot, Pots & pans, Small microwave, and Toaster oven.
Registration for this event is required. You only need to register for the first session to be included in all of the dates. Please only register if you can attend most of the sessions, as space is limited.

Build reading readiness and kindergarten readiness skills with our Preschool Storytime program! This fun and educational program features longer books that are accompanied by a variety of activities, including flannel boards, dramatics, and songs.

BabyBook is a lapsit storytime that helps babies develop a love for reading, promotes early literacy skills, and fosters social development through music and movement, rhythm and rhyme, and cuddles and play!

Toddler Time is an interactive storytime that introduces toddlers to books, reading, and the love of language through stories, songs, and activities. Parents can discover fun ways to build the early literacy skills children need to learn to read! (ages 1-2)
Join CGPL's very first Youth Boomwhacker Choir! Participants will learn the basics of playing this simple instrument, culminating in a concert for friends and family at the end of the month! By registering, you are committing to a month of weekly practices, ending with a concert.
