The Missouri Department of Conservation will host Pond to Plate: Catfish Cleaning 101 on August 23.
Catfish are a wonderful challenge for any angler and an excellent food source. This program will detail multiple methods to clean and fillet your next catfish with live demonstrations. Participants must be age 12 or older.
Pond to Plate: Catfish Cleaning 101 will take place on Saturday, August 23, from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Nature Center.

Born in garages, school gyms, and backyard bonfires, rock n’ roll is the beating heart of the Midwest. Let’s keep that pulse alive by giving young musicians the chance to rise up, plug in, and play LOUD.

Old Town Cape’s free concert series Tunes at Twilight will welcome Miss Jubilee & Ethan Leinwand on August 22.
Inspired by the female blues singers of old and the rich, musical heritage of St. Louis, vocalist Miss Jubilee (Valerie Kirchhoff) specializes in 1920s and 30s blues, jazz, and hokum. She is accompanied by her husband, pianist Ethan Leinwand.

From the not-so-scary haunted cabin to fall crafts, creepy crawlies, carnival-style games, and thrilling attractions like the rock wall and giant swing—there’s something for every age (and bravery level!).
Costumes are encouraged, and the event runs rain or shine. So, bundle up, dress up, and get ready to play!
Admission is free, and just like a carnival, tickets for certain attractions are $1 each.
