Community Calendar

During this first person interpretive event, visitors can learn about people who were active in Cape Girardeau during the Civil War. Pick a photo of a real person and hear them tell you about their experiences and lives. These real people were young ladies, wives, farmers, shop-keepers, engineers, and college students whose lives became entangled in the great conflict that tore apart the nation. Hear their stories at Fort D, a place all of them would have known. Period sweets will be available after presentations. As always, free admission.

Westwood Family Haunt and Nightmare on Brookwood are neighbors that came together and built blocks of Halloween decorations for all ages. Be sure to park at Dennis Scivally park or outer roads. Please slow down as there are curb to curb full of people.

Join us from 5:30-7:30 on October 31 for some Halloween fun! Trick or treat out of car trunks, watch cartoons, and enjoy hot dogs, popcorn, and lemonade at Christ Episcopal Church on 101. N. Fountain St. in downtown Cape Girardeau. Costumes are welcome but not required!
