Join fellow American Mahjong enthusiasts for a fun and friendly game session! This event is for players who already know the rules and want to enjoy some lively rounds together. If you have your own mahjong set, please bring it along—our library has only two sets available. Feel free to bring your favorite snack or drink to enjoy while you play. No registration needed—just drop in and join the fun! (ages 18+)

Is your kid interested in learning Spanish, the world's fourth most-spoken language? Sign them up for our 8-week introduction to Spanish with guest lecturer, Carla Vaca Diez! By registering for this program, you are committing to 8 programs that will meet every Thursday from 4:00–5:00 pm. (ages 9-11)

Come trick or treat at the mill!

FREE and open to the public.

Activities:

4–7 p.m. - Trick-or-Treating on all floors of the mill. Candy and Halloween trinkets provided by site staff. The mill will be decorated for Halloween.

4-7 p.m. – SEMO Snocones and Ice Cream will be on site selling hot cocoa, caramel apple cups, hot dogs, nachos, ice cream and snocones.

This is a family-friendly event. Remember to wear a costume and bring a bucket or bag to collect candy!

On the 4th Friday of every month from April through October, the art galleries and artists' studios in downtown Ste Genevieve open their doors to the public from 6 to 9 pm.

Come stroll from gallery to studio through quaint historic downtown Ste Gen. You will also find food, shopping and live music.

This is a family friendly and free event.

The Southeast Missouri State University Symphony Orchestra opens its season with three pillars of the Romantic orchestral repertoire.

Pianist Alexandra Joan joins the orchestra for Franz Liszt's L'ilaliana in Algeri and Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 7 in D minor.

Doors open 30 minutes prior to show time.

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.

Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.

Pets & Petals Boo Bash is a fun-filled, family-friendly, Halloween-themed event celebrating our furry friends, feathered companions, scaly pals, and floral favorites!

Come explore Missouri's oldest cemetery and experience the stories of early pioneers of Ste. Genevieve by lantern light. Although close to Halloween, the intent of the Spirit Reunion is not to be scary, but rather educational, as you'll see local people in period costume standing near their final resting place and talking about their lives, loves, and perhaps how they died.

Join us for an evening of Romantic chamber music featuring pianist Alexandra Joan. The program includes solo piano works by Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms, showcasing the beauty, poetry, and brilliance of the Romantic tradition. The concert concludes with Brahms’ deeply expressive Clarinet Trio, performed by Alexandra Joan, clarinetist Gabrielle Baffoni, and cellist Patrick Hopkins.

General admission seating. Online ticket prices range $13.75 - $21.50.

Build reading readiness and kindergarten readiness skills with our Preschool Storytime program! This fun and educational program features longer books that are accompanied by a variety of activities, including flannel boards, dramatics, and songs.
