The Jackson Missouri Chamber of Commerce is hosting a town hall for the Cape Girardeau Presiding Commissioner candidates on Monday, June 29, 2026. The event will be held at the Jackson Civic Center where you can hear from the candidates on what their vision looks like for the future of Cape Girardeau County and its communities.

On the 4th Friday of every month from April through October, the art galleries and artists' studios in downtown Ste Genevieve open their doors to the public from 6 to 9 pm.
Come stroll from gallery to studio through quaint historic downtown Ste Gen. You will also find food, shopping and live music.

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.
Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.

No experience is needed—pre-made characters are ready for you, or bring your own if you prefer (just check in about any requirements). Dice, notebooks, and pencils are recommended but not required, and snacks are welcome!

The Missouri Department of Conservation will host a Map and Compass Family Adventure on June 27.
Trade in the screens for the great outdoors! Attendees will learn the basics of map reading and using a compass and put skills to the test by working as a team, solving clues, and making your way through a nature course. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended. All participants must be age 7 and older.
The Map and Compass Family Adventure will take place on Saturday, June 27, from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Nature Center.

Old Town Cape will host its Downtown Sculpture Exhibition Kickoff on June 27.
Selected sculptures for the 2026 Downtown Sculpture Exhibition will be announced at the kickoff, and attendees can meet the artists. The free, family-friendly event will also feature a potter, sidewalk chalk painting, plein air painting, dancers, boat floats in the fountain, button making, live music, and more. Food and craft vendors will be on site, as well.
