Embark on a thrilling role-playing adventure with us in Dungeon Crawl Classics! Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or brand new to tabletop RPGs, everyone is welcome—no experience needed and pre-made characters are available. Prefer to bring your own character? Go for it! We’ll be running short campaigns that tell a complete story arc, with new adventures starting every four weeks.
This time, your party is called to investigate mysterious lights and strange happenings at a remote northern mountain, rumored to be the site of dark magic. What begins as a simple investigation will launch you and your fellow adventurers on an epic quest—one that may even transport you to another era!
All necessary dice, including Dungeon Crawl Classics’ unique “funky dice,” will be provided. Bring your own dice, notebooks, and snacks if you like. Registration is required and signing up for one session secures your spot for the entire campaign. Join us for an unforgettable journey! (ages 18+)

State Ornithologist Kristen Heath-Acre will provide a program about "Missouri Birds that Cross the Borders."
About half of birds that breed in Missouri leave the state each season. She will discuss a partnership that was developed to track where these birds overwinter and how resources are targeted to help provide good habitat for these birds in their winter homes.
She will also discuss the success of re-introducing the Brown-Headed Nuthatch to restored pine forests in Missouri.

Meet fellow enthusiasts, enjoy friendly matches, and improve your strategy in a relaxed setting. Drop in anytime; no registration needed. We meet in the Genealogy Room in Adult Services. The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band performs each Wednesday evening in June and July. Guest artists perform at 7 PM. The Muny Band performs at 7:30 PM.
The free concerts take place each Wednesday evening at the Dan Cotner Amphitheater in Capaha Park. Be sure to bring your blankets or lawn chairs.

Join fellow American Mahjong enthusiasts for a fun and friendly game session! This event is for players who already know the rules and want to enjoy some lively rounds together. If you have your own mahjong set, please bring it along—our library has only two sets available. Feel free to bring your favorite snack or drink to enjoy while you play. The Missouri Department of Conservation will host Birds in Color: The Painted Bunting on July 23.
This class on the painted bunting, a beautiful migratory bird native to southern Missouri, will cover how to identify the species based on appearance and call, its habitats and conservation status. The class will conclude with instruction on how to draw this colorful bird using oil pastels. No experience is necessary, and all materials will be provided.
Birds in Color: The Painted Bunting will take place on Thursday, July 23, from 2-4:30 p.m. at the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center in Puxico.

This month our Banned Book Club will discuss the classic novel “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee.
For ages 12+ at the Perryville Branch.
On the 4th Friday of every month from April through October, the art galleries and artists' studios in downtown Ste Genevieve open their doors to the public from 6 to 9 pm.
Come stroll from gallery to studio through quaint historic downtown Ste Gen. You will also find food, shopping and live music.
This is a family friendly and free event.
