Celebrate the season with NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet, the largest touring production of its kind in North America. Coming to the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall. CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO on NOVEMBER 11, 2026, this unforgettable performance features an international cast of dancers, dazzling acrobatics, elaborate costumes, and larger-than-life puppetry.

Set to the timeless music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the production transforms the stage into a magical holiday experience. A highlight of the show is the “Dove of Peace” adagio, a powerful and visually stunning moment that captivates audiences of all ages.

Now in its 34th year, the production continues to delight families across more than 80 cities annually.

Join us for Toddler Time—an interactive storytime designed to spark your child’s love of books and language! Through lively stories, catchy songs, and playful activities, toddlers will explore the joy of reading while building essential early literacy skills. Parents and caregivers will also discover creative ways to support their child’s learning journey at home. Come share the fun and watch your little one’s imagination grow! (ages 1-2)

Join fellow American Mahjong enthusiasts for a fun and friendly game session! This event is for players who already know the rules and want to enjoy some lively rounds together. If you have your own mahjong set, please bring it along—our library has only two sets available. Feel free to bring your favorite snack or drink to enjoy while you play. The SEMO Saxophone Studio presents an evening celebrating the versatility, creativity, and collaborative spirit of the saxophone. Featuring solo performances by student musicians, chamber ensembles, and the SEMO Saxophone Choir, this recital will showcase the depth and range of the saxophonists on River Campus. The program will include original works for saxophone, music by student composers, and imaginative transcriptions, along with a special appearance by a visiting guest artist.

Join our group of reading rebels in reading our pick this month, “Killing Mr. Griffin” by Lois Duncan. Enjoy analyzing and discussing the book and its bans/challenges since publication!

Contra Dance to live music. No experience or partner is needed. All dances are taught and walked through. This dance is FREE to the public.

Take a short pause in your day with gentle chair yoga, breathwork, and meditation. The sessions are open to adults of all skill levels, whether you are simply curious or have experience. We will provide a calm space to restore focus and connect with a supportive community. No equipment or preparation is needed.
