The City of Marble Hill will host its Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, from 6-10 PM. This free, family-friendly event will feature kids' activities, food, family fun, a concert at 7 PM and fireworks at dark.

The City of Cape Girardeau will honor our nation’s 250th birthday at Riverfest on July 4.
The event will feature live entertainment, family activities, food and beverage vendors, and more. Entertainment on the Themis Street main stage will include Greg Vaughn, Joy Brooker, The Ivas John Band, and Mike Walker’s Lasting Impressions. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to view festivities from the courthouse lawn terraces. The evening will conclude with a spectacular fireworks show over the Mississippi River.
Riverfest will take place on Saturday, July 4, from 3 to 9 p.m. in downtown Cape Girardeau.

Build reading readiness and kindergarten readiness skills with our Preschool Storytime program! This fun and educational program features longer books that are accompanied by a variety of activities, including flannel boards, dramatics, and songs.

Join us for BabyBook, a lively lapsit storytime designed to spark your baby’s love for reading! Through joyful stories, playful music and movement, and gentle rhymes, your little one will build early literacy skills and connect with others in a warm, nurturing environment. Perfect for babies and their caregivers—come share cuddles, giggles, and the magic of books together! (ages 0-1)

The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band performs each Wednesday evening in June and July. Guest artists perform at 7 PM. The Muny Band performs at 7:30 PM.
The free concerts take place each Wednesday evening at the Dan Cotner Amphitheater in Capaha Park. Be sure to bring your blankets or lawn chairs.

Join us for Toddler Time—an interactive storytime designed to spark your child’s love of books and language! Through lively stories, catchy songs, and playful activities, toddlers will explore the joy of reading while building essential early literacy skills. Parents and caregivers will also discover creative ways to support their child’s learning journey at home. Perfect for ages 1–3. Come share the fun and watch your little one’s imagination grow! (ages 1-2)
The Jackson Municipal Band’s next concert will be July 9 with special guest An Enchanted Evening with "The Fairytale Essence."
The free concert will take place Thursday, July 9, at 7:00 p.m. at the Nick Leist Memorial Band Shell in Jackson city park. Be sure to bring your blankets or lawn chairs.
Directions: Entrance to the band shell parking lot is off of Route D across from McCombs Funeral Home.

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.
Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.
