The Crisp Museum will host “Then & Now: Works by SEMO Alumni & Faculty” from September 4 through October 17.

This exhibition is a celebration of learning, collaboration, and the evolving relationship between teacher and artist. Professors engage with viewers and students alike, discussing techniques and inspiration, while students gain confidence seeing their creations displayed alongside those who have guided them.

**An opening reception will take place on Friday, September 4, from 4-8 p.m.

“Then & Now” will run from Friday, September 4, through Saturday, October 17, at the Crisp Museum on Southeast’s River Campus.

On September 25, we’re inviting everybody to throw on some rhinestones, channel a little Dolly, and create some JOY in whatever way makes sense for them. Come as Dolly. Come as Kenny. Come as yourself with an unreasonable amount of fringe.

Join us at 5 p.m. at Scout Hall’s outdoor stage as we sing “9 to 5,” hear an official proclamation from Mayor Robbie Guard, and kick off Dolly Day across Cape Girardeau!

Cape Girardeau is showing up for Dolly, and we’re starting to hear from businesses all over downtown who are ready to add a little 9 to 5 magic of their own.

On the 4th Friday of every month from April through October, the art galleries and artists' studios in downtown Ste Genevieve open their doors to the public from 6 to 9 pm.

Come stroll from gallery to studio through quaint historic downtown Ste Gen. You will also find food, shopping and live music.

This is a family friendly and free event.

Back by popular demand! Join the Southeast Missouri State University Symphony Orchestra for an evening of Broadway favorites and patriotic classics at the Dan Cotner Ampitheater. This concert is presented free of charge for our local community.

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.

Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.

Join us for Bilingual Storytime—¡Hola y bienvenidos! Experience the joy of stories, songs, and rhymes in both Spanish and English. Perfect for young children and families, this interactive event encourages language learning and fun through music and books. Come sing, play, and read with us as we celebrate two languages together! (ages 0-5)

Join the fun by running Missouri’s premium, long-standing City of Roses Half Marathon. This course takes you along a paved trail through residential Cape Girardeau and out into the beautiful county. The course is well supported with volunteers to keep you safe as you wind around, up and down paved roads, past horse farms, tree-filled woods and beautiful homes. You will loop back to the Osage Center to find a cheering crowd and lots of good food, water, Gatorade and locally brewed beer. There will be pancakes & coffee along with traditional post-race snacks.

This race is in its 46th consecutive year. Water stops are available every 2 miles in the beginning, then every mile from mile 8 on. Gatorade will be available at the water stops from mile 6 through the end of the race. The Water Stops are manned by some really happy people, ready to encourage you on your journey. We offer an early start for those who feel they may take longer than 3 hours to complete the course.

Our City of Roses 5K is a flat, fast USATF Certified Course on a paved trail. There will be lots of cheering and snacks at the finish.
