The Crisp Museum will host its annual LEGO Family Day on January 24.
The event will feature LEGO-themed stories, games, activities, and a LEGO scavenger hunt. Bricks will be provided for play, and pre-made models will also be on display.
LEGO Family Day will take place Saturday, January 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Crisp Museum on Southeast’s River Campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Each month, our Bite-Sized Chefs program helps kids build their recipe repertoire by exploring creative culinary techniques that are easy and pleasing to the eye. Create and enjoy a sample at the library, then take home the recipe ideas to dazzle your family and friends! (Ages 6-11)

Build reading readiness and kindergarten readiness skills with our Preschool Storytime program! This fun and educational program features longer books that are accompanied by a variety of activities, including flannel boards, dramatics, and songs.

Are you looking for a gentle yoga class or interested in some mid-week destressing? Join us for an hour of gentle yoga, held every Wednesday. Please bring your own yoga mat or bath towel, as well as a yoga block for your practice. Space is limited and registration is required. (ages 18+)

Missouri's Official Folk Dance is making a comeback at the Osage Center. Square Dancing has arrived at Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation. Enjoy a foot stomping good time learning this skill in an 8-week class designed for those with no previous dancing experience. Classes begin January 14. Registration is required.
Looking to compete against other chess players? Join our Chess Club, a great way to learn strategy, connect with others, and enjoy chess! This club is designed for adults who are interested in or have experience playing chess. Chess Club is held in the Genealogy Room in Adult Services. (Ages 18+)

Toddler Time is an interactive storytime that introduces toddlers to books, reading, and the love of language through stories, songs, and activities. Parents can discover fun ways to build the early literacy skills children need to learn to read! (ages 1-2)
A New Year – a new day and time!! Come to learn, play, or teach others at the Main Branch, Jackson. Adults are welcome but this club is primarily for youth ages 6-17. The chess club meets weekly on Thursdays at 3:30 p.m.
The 2026 Bootheel Bluegrass Festival will take place January 29-31.
This annual 3-day indoor bluegrass event will feature performances by Daryl Mosley, Gilbert Humphrey, Possum Trot, Alaskan Sunnyside Sisters, Rising Son, Leevon DeCourley, Stringed Union, Bull Harman & Friends, and Herbie Johnston & Fiddler’s Frolic. Vendors will be on-site with crafts, handmade items, and baked goods.
The festival kicks off Thursday, January 29, and continues through Saturday night, January 31, at the Bavarian Hall by Drury Inn in Fruitland. Tickets available at the door.
