The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.

Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.

Three Rivers College will host its 11th annual “Run 4 The Arts” on September 12.

The event will feature a 4-mile run/walk and 1-mile walk, as well as a Walk & Wag quick loop for pet owners and their leashed furry friends. All proceeds benefit Three Rivers’ fine arts scholarships.

“Run 4 The Arts” will take place Saturday, September 12, at 8 a.m. at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center at Three Rivers College. 

Start time is 8 a.m., with packet pick up and same-day registration beginning at 7 a.m. If you can’t make the run, you can still support scholarships and get a T-shirt by signing up as a Virtual Runner.

Register by August 17 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.

The Crisp Museum will host “Then & Now: Works by SEMO Alumni & Faculty” from September 4 through October 17.

This exhibition is a celebration of learning, collaboration, and the evolving relationship between teacher and artist. Professors engage with viewers and students alike, discussing techniques and inspiration, while students gain confidence seeing their creations displayed alongside those who have guided them.

**An opening reception will take place on Friday, September 4, from 4-8 p.m.

“Then & Now” will run from Friday, September 4, through Saturday, October 17, at the Crisp Museum on Southeast’s River Campus.

The 2nd Annual "Fly with the Hive" Festival will take place on Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in historic downtown Ste. Genevieve.

It will have a bee theme in addition to our regular festival theme. We will have beekeepers doing demos and answering questions in addition to selling their honey and honey related items. There will be crafters of all kinds as well as food markets, live music, kids' games with puttputt golf and pony rides. There will be a forger demonstrating his craft. The Ste. Genevieve Museum Learning Center will have a kids' corner set up. Restaurants will have their great cuisine ready for you.

Join us to make your own macrame bag strap! In this program, you will learn how to create basic macrame knots, and then make your own macrame bag strap. Each participant will take home one bag strap. All supplies are provided by the library. Registration is required for this event. (ages 18+)

Contra Dance to live music. No experience or partner is needed. All dances are taught and walked through. This dance is FREE to the public.

Dances are taught and prompted to old-time music, sometimes live. Come early for extra instuction. Come with or without a partner. Children and families are welcome.
