The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band performs each Wednesday evening in June and July. Guest artists perform at 7 PM. The Muny Band performs at 7:30 PM.
The free concerts take place each Wednesday evening at the Dan Cotner Amphitheater in Capaha Park. Be sure to bring your blankets or lawn chairs.

Join fellow American Mahjong enthusiasts for a fun and friendly game session! This event is for players who already know the rules and want to enjoy some lively rounds together. If you have your own mahjong set, please bring it along—our library has only two sets available. Feel free to bring your favorite snack or drink to enjoy while you play. No registration needed—just drop in and join the fun! (ages 18+)

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.
Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.

The SEMO Alumni Association presents the Southeast Missouri Regional Jazz Orchestra for its annual concert on Saturday, August 1, 2026.
Founded in 2000, the orchestra is comprised of area music educators, professional musicians, and talented high school and college students. This big band plays a wide variety of music including jazz standards, Latin favorites, rock 'n roll, and pop hits...something for all ages to enjoy.
The free Southeast Missouri Regional Jazz Orchestra concert will take place on Saturday, August 1, at 2:00 p.m. at the Wehking Alumni Center on the Campus of Southeast Missouri State University.

The SEMO Iris Society will host its annual sale of iris rhizomes on August 2.
Hundreds of varieties will be available. The sale generally concludes within an hour and will be followed by an auction of newer varieties.
The sale and auction will take place on Sunday, August 2, from 12-3 p.m. at the MU Cape County Extension Center in Jackson.

The Second Annual Perry County Senior Resource EXPO in Perryville, Missouri, is a free community-focused event designed to connect local seniors and caregivers with vital services. Theme: "Slice of the Good Life" Location: Perryville Elks Lodge

Activities: Vendor booths, bingo, and complimentary watermelon slices
Goal: A relaxed setting where seniors can learn about healthcare, assisted living, and community support in a social environment to prevent isolation.
