Join fellow American Mahjong enthusiasts for a fun and friendly game session! This event is for players who already know the rules and want to enjoy some lively rounds together. If you have your own mahjong set, please bring it along—our library has only two sets available. Feel free to bring your favorite snack or drink to enjoy while you play. No registration needed—just drop in and join the fun! (ages 18+)

Come hear the stunning sounds of the SEMO brass studios presented in chamber music configurations. You won't want to miss these selections by music students and faculty.

Immaculate Conception School-Jackson will host its annual Fall Craft Fair fundraiser on Saturday, November 7.

More than 50 vendors will sell Christmas gift items, including handmade crafts, woodworking, soap, home decor, jewelry, and more. Concessions, pulled pork lunch, and bake sale will be available.

The Fall Craft Fair will take place on Saturday, November 7, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception School gym in Jackson.

Admission is $2 for ages 13 and up.

Dances are taught and prompted to old-time music, sometimes live. Come early for extra instuction. Come with or without a partner. Children and families are welcome. Age 8 and up can learn the dance easily. $5 contribution is requested for hall rental and musicians. Look on YouTube for Contra Dance, Cape Girardeau, MO to see a sampling of our dances.

Build reading readiness and kindergarten readiness skills with our Preschool Storytime program! This fun and educational program features longer books that are accompanied by a variety of activities, including flannel boards, dramatics, and songs.

(Ages 3-5)

This program is designed for children and accompanying adults. Please plan to attend and be engaged with your child for this program. Drop-offs will not be permitted.

Join us for BabyBook, a lively lapsit storytime designed to spark your baby’s love for reading! Through joyful stories, playful music and movement, and gentle rhymes, your little one will build early literacy skills and connect with others in a warm, nurturing environment. Perfect for babies and their caregivers—come share cuddles, giggles, and the magic of books together! (ages 0-1)
