The Crisp Museum will host “Then & Now: Works by SEMO Alumni & Faculty” from September 4 through October 17.

This exhibition is a celebration of learning, collaboration, and the evolving relationship between teacher and artist. Professors engage with viewers and students alike, discussing techniques and inspiration, while students gain confidence seeing their creations displayed alongside those who have guided them.

**An opening reception will take place on Friday, September 4, from 4-8 p.m.

“Then & Now” will run from Friday, September 4, through Saturday, October 17, at the Crisp Museum on Southeast’s River Campus.

Join us for Toddler Time—an interactive storytime designed to spark your child’s love of books and language! Through lively stories, catchy songs, and playful activities, toddlers will explore the joy of reading while building essential early literacy skills. Parents and caregivers will also discover creative ways to support their child’s learning journey at home. Come share the fun and watch your little one’s imagination grow! (ages 1-2)

Join fellow American Mahjong enthusiasts for a fun and friendly game session! This event is for players who already know the rules and want to enjoy some lively rounds together. If you have your own mahjong set, please bring it along—our library has only two sets available. Feel free to bring your favorite snack or drink to enjoy while you play. No registration needed—just drop in and join the fun! (ages 18+)

Is your kid interested in learning Spanish, the world's fourth most-spoken language? Sign them up for our 8-week introduction to Spanish with guest lecturer, Carla Vaca Diez! By registering for this program, you are committing to 8 programs that will meet every Thursday from 4:00–5:00 pm. (ages 9-11)

Old Town Cape’s Economic Vitality Committee will host a Downtown Vacancy to Vibrancy Open House on September 24.

The event will allow the public and those interested in starting or expanding their business to tour a wide variety of commercial properties available for sale or lease in downtown Cape.

The Downtown Vacancy to Vibrancy Open House will take place Thursday, September 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. in downtown Cape Girardeau.

On the 4th Friday of every month from April through October, the art galleries and artists' studios in downtown Ste Genevieve open their doors to the public from 6 to 9 pm.

Come stroll from gallery to studio through quaint historic downtown Ste Gen. You will also find food, shopping and live music.

This is a family friendly and free event.

Back by popular demand! Join the Southeast Missouri State University Symphony Orchestra for an evening of Broadway favorites and patriotic classics at the Dan Cotner Ampitheater. This concert is presented free of charge for our local community.

The Cape Riverfront Market takes place each Saturday morning through October from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 35 S. Spanish Street in Downtown Cape Girardeau.

Patrons of the farmers’ market can find a wide variety of vendors selling hot breakfast and lunch foods, farm-fresh produce, meats and cheeses, baked goods, jams, honey, flowers and plants, arts and crafts, and natural wellness products, all of which are locally grown, homemade, and handmade. Each week will feature live music, as well.
