Going Public: Jake Gerard, Cape Girardeau City Engineer, Talks About Progress of Summer and Fall 2025 Street Projects
Jake Gerard, City Engineer of Cape Girardeau, discussed road maintenance projects funded by the Transportation Trust Fund (TTF). The TTF, approved by voters last April, focuses on maintaining existing roads rather than new construction. Current projects include an 18-month overhaul of Lexington Street, a 12-month repair on Perryville, and a design-in-house project on South Sprigg Street.

Exposition: Southeast Missouri Regional Jazz Orchestra Celebrates 25 Years, Raises Funds with Annual Benefit Concert
Founded in 2000, the orchestra is comprised of area music educators, professional musicians, and talented high school and college students. This big band plays a wide variety of music, including jazz standards, Latin favorites, Rock' n Roll, and Pop Hits...something for all ages to enjoy. All proceeds from the concert will support performance opportunities for the Southeast Marching Band’s fall season.
