In this episode of 'Exposition', we talk with David Grier. The longtime bluegrass musician shares stories about his career, famous collaborations, and previews his upcoming performance at 'Tunes at Twilight ' on Friday, August 14th, at 6:30 p.m. at Ivers Square Gazebo.

David shares his extensive background in bluegrass, starting at age six and influenced by his father and experiencing the legend, Bill Monroe, play.

He talks about the techniques of flatpicking and cross-picking, emphasizing their melodic and harmonic techniques in his music.

We also spoke about his current work with Peter Rowan and his ongoing projects, including writing, recording, and touring.

John is a proud 2006 Alum of Southeast Missouri State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communication – Radio option, with a minor in Management. He has been a life-long listener of KRCU Public Radio, but began his radio career as a student DJ on Rage 103.7 KDMC-LP in 2003.
