Codefi Announces Finalists For 1ST50K Entrepreneurial Pitch Competition

Collaborative entrepreneurial workspace in Downtown Cape, Codefi, has selected its finalists for their 1ST50K Startup Competition

Finalists were selected from nearly 200 applications submitted around the world to pitch their concepts later this week.

“We are ecstatic about the number of and quality of teams that we’ll be bringing to town,” said Program Director Sarah Gant. “Now the real work begins of identifying the four companies and teams that fit best into our community, so we can go to work to help them thrive here.” 

Winners will receive a $50,000 grant award and be located in Cape Girardeau as they accelerate the growth of their technology companies. 

Previously, 1ST50K awardees since 2019 have created nearly 40 jobs and generated over an estimated $2 million in economic impact.

Examples of finalist innovations include artificial intelligence manufacturers, and application programs to benefit fashion, housing, and medical industries. 

 

Advanced Robotics from Pasadena, California designs and manufactures an artificial intelligence enhanced robotic system to dispense medications in pharmacies. 

 

Food Haven, from San Francisco, California connects restaurants with users interested in purchasing freshly prepared meals, made from surplus ingredients and sold at discounted prices.

 

St.Louis's Noninvasive Diagnostic Instruments provides cost-effective, convenient, and rapid non-invasive point-of-care blood cholesterol testing for patients and their healthcare providers.

 

Particle Spaceout of Kansas City, Missouri provides a single platform to help grow and automate property management operations.

 

RentHub from New York City, New York is an alternative data platform for the multi-trillion dollar rental housing industry. 

 

Seamly Systems out of Hunstville, Alabama develops scalable technology that enables fashion’s digital transformation in today’s connected world to increase profits, reduce waste, and heighten creative for any size fashion business.

 

Slice Wifi from New York City, New York delivers wireless technologies to people, places, and things that are difficult to connect.

 

Cape Girardeau's STOCKHAUS is a digital wholesaler for small businesses and organizations. The Stockhaus app allows buyers to purchase larger quantities directly from the manufacturer by teaming up their buying power to unlock lower wholesale prices.

 

WATT of Los Angeles, California, is acommunity engagement platform for virtual charity walks and running events. Described by customers as the “Fitbit for a cause.”

 

XpressRun from Louisville, Kentucky is a fully-automated, last-mile logistics platform built for local retailers to efficiently and effectively dispatch anything they want, when they want, within minutes.

 

Local seasoned entrepreneurs, executives, and technology specialists make recommendations to the competition directors for the winners, and once competition results are in, teams are expected to begin working from Cape in September.
