The Crisp Museum will host a Large Market Basket Making class on July 29 and 30.
The class will be led by Laura Klaus, who has over 30 years’ experience as a weaver. Attendees will make a large basket perfect for the farmer’s market. There is a fee to attend. Please register by July 22.
The basket making class will take place on Tuesday, July 29, and Wednesday, July 30, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Crisp Museum on Southeast’s River Campus.

The Saint Francis Auxiliary will help area children get ready for school with a “Back to School Supply Drive” from July 30-August 7.
Community members can drop off school supplies at marked donation barrels throughout Saint Francis Medical Center and offsite Saint Francis locations.
The “Back to School Supply Drive” will take place Wednesday, July 30, through Thursday, August 7.

The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band’s next concert will be July 30.
This is the final concert of the summer. The concert will take place Wednesday, July 30, at 7:00 p.m. at the Dan Cotner Amphitheater in Capaha Park.

Old Town Cape’s free concert series Tunes at Twilight will welcome Lucas Wayne and The Cottonmouths on August 1.
Lucas Wayne is a singer-songwriter from Southern Illinois. He writes songs of sorrow and silliness and always says it plain and simple.
You can hear Lucas Wayne and The Cottonmouths at Tunes at Twilight at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 1, at Ivers Square in downtown Cape Girardeau. Be sure to bring your blanket or lawn chair.

The Cape Girardeau Parks & Recreation Department will host Riverfront Yoga each Saturday through September 27.
Fitness instructors will lead a yoga flow built for all levels and ages. No experience is required, and modifications will be offered. Attendees should bring a towel, a mat, and water.
Riverfront Yoga will take place this Saturday from 7:30-8:30 a.m. at Riverfront Park in downtown Cape. No registration is required, but there is a small fee of $4 to attend.

The United Way of Southeast Missouri will help area families get their children ready for the upcoming school year with its annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply drive on August 2.
Walmart stores in Cape Girardeau, Fredericktown, Jackson, Kennett, Malden, Perryville, Poplar Bluff, and Sikeston are partnering with the United Way, and school representatives will be on hand to encourage donations. Locations will have designated donation boxes and carts, and some locations will have buses parked in front to collect supplies.
“Stuff the Bus” will take place Saturday, August 2, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
