Dr. Sophia Han and Dr. Gabrielle Baffoni dropped by Caffé Concerto to talk about the upcoming performance by '8 Strings & a Whistle' a group who performs their own works alongside rare treasures of the Baroque, Classical and 20th and 21st century - all originally composed for flute, viola, and cello. They also talked about the preview performance with a 'Bach's Lunch' at the River Campus.

In this episode of 'Exposition', we speak with Emily Denlinger, a professor in the Department of Art and Design at Southeast Missouri State University. Emily talks about the second annual installment of the "Emerging Voices" exhibition, which showcases art pieces created by students from local community colleges. This public gallery is open 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the show is available to view through January 30, 2026, at the Dobbins Center, located on the SEMO River Campus.

Exposition/Singers At Their Best: Sophia Capra, Winner of Southeast Missouri Symphony’s 2023 Aria Competition
Sophia Capra, originally from St. Louis, is a vocal performance major at Southeast, studying with faculty member Dr. Christopher Goeke. She has sung numerous roles in Southeast’s opera productions and has served as a member of professional choirs since the age of twelve.

The "Lord God Bird" - A Vanished Part of Missouri
European settlers in southern Missouri sometimes encountered a large woodpecker in bottomland forests. The Ivory-billed Woodpecker was larger than any other woodpecker, including the Pileated Woodpecker which is still common today.
