KRCU Public Radio Reporter/InternJosh Seabaugh has been at Southeast since 2018. While journalism was his second major, he's found his home is truly in this field. He is a part of 'Redhawk Rhythm', Southeast's a capella group. During his downtime, he watches shows or plays games with his girlfriend, who has been his biggest supporter.

On March 17th, a chain of traffic accidents on I-57 near Charleston, Missouri left all lanes of the interstate closed for twenty hours. The accident was due to inclement weather and left 15 injured and claimed the lives of five. But thanks to first responders, emergency management teams, and the hard work of MoDOT, more casualties were prevented, and traffic was diverted safely.

A student at Southeast Missouri State University has broken a local record with her sculpture. Melanie Reichert is responsible for creating the tallest sculpture at SEMO with her installed piece, standing at eleven feet and four inches tall.

Filming starts in April for a new zombie movie, and production will take place in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The movie is called “Herd” and auditions were held in Rust Media Center in Cape Girardeau.

Since the 1930's, the Activity Center at Poplar Bluff Junior High has been dutifully serving the district. It has been housing the hands-on curriculum courses, shop classes, and band practice. However, the current facility will soon be demolished and the space will house the newly renovated Activity Center

Piramal Glass is a glass bottle manufacturing company with facilities in the United States, Sri Lanka, and India. In the U.S. there are only 3 operations—A corporate office and a decoration operation in New Jersey, and a manufacturing operation in Park Hills, Missouri. One of those facilities, the manufacturing plant in Park Hills, will soon be closing.

At Poplar Bluff, the theater program goes back to the 1920s. But in 2000, a theater was built for the High School district. And now, the Kay Porter theater is getting an interior renovation.
