On July 28, the Southeast Health Center of Stoddard County announced a report on the progress of the building’s repairs after the July 10th EF2 tornado.

The tornado caused destruction to land, homes, and various other structures in the area including the health center, whose damages consisted of roof leaks, power losses, and broken utilities.

Specific units in the building were also in need of particular repair, such as the Emergency Services Department and Behavioral Health Unit.

The repair process began in mid July, and the hospital has announced they are now expected to be back to full function in early August.

The clinic is waiting to have all units and emergency services back to complete operation before the hospital reopens entirely.

While patients await the clinic’s repair updates ER departments are open in Poplar Bluff and Sikeston, and a Command Center at the Dexter hospital will also remain an active resource.
