The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band performs each Wednesday night at Capaha Park during June and July.
Each week features a special guest artist at 7 p.m., with the Muny Band beginning at 7:30 p.m.
KRCU will hand out free ice cream at the June 25 concert courtesy of Dairy Queen. Stop by the KRCU tent to say hi.
The free concert will take place Wednesday, June 25, at 7:00 p.m. at the Dan Cotner Amphitheater in Capaha Park. Be sure to bring your blankets or lawn chairs.

The Southeast Missouri Modelers Association (SEMMA) invites the public to fly radio-controlled model aircraft on June 26 (or just watch).

Each Thursday evening during the summer, the Jackson Municipal Band provides a free concert for community members and visitors.
The concert also features local and regional guest artists each week. Special guest on June 26 will be Chandler James. Chandler blends outlaw and classic country with hints of southern rock and blues.
The Jackson Municipal Band concert will take place on Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. at the Nick Leist Memorial Band Shell in Jackson City Park.

The City of Perryville, Perry County, and Perry County Heritage Tourism will host their annual Independence Day Fireworks Show on July 3.
The community is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs for this free, family-friendly event.
The display will start at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, at Perryville City Park.

Celebrate Independence Day with the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department.
Activities will include a 5K walk/run, a car show, food vendors, a mud volleyball tournament, beer garden, and live music by Brandon Bates and the Jackson Municipal Band. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. at Rotary Lake. Admission is free and open to the public.
The celebration will take place in Jackson City Park on Friday, July 4, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The soldiers of Fort D were very patriotic. On the national holiday, they would celebrate by firing their rifles and cannon and flying their flags proudly. Celebrate the birth of our nation with local living history reenactors at Fort D. The 1861 Woodruff gun, a veteran of the Civil War, will be fired on the 4th. The stone building, with its interpretive displays of life during the Civil War, will also be open.
Admission is free.
