The Cape Girardeau Municipal Band performs each Wednesday night at Capaha Park during June and July.
The July 2 concert will feature "Strike Up the Band" by George Gershwin, "Horse and Buggy" by Leroy Anderson, "The Mandalorian" by Ludwig Goransson, "The Sound of Music" by Richard Rodgers and more. Manitou with Steve Schaffner will be the special guest.
The free concert will take place Wednesday, July 2, at 7:00 p.m. at the Dan Cotner Amphitheater in Capaha Park. Be sure to bring your blankets or lawn chairs.

The City of Perryville, Perry County, and Perry County Heritage Tourism will host their annual Independence Day Fireworks Show on July 3.
The community is invited to bring blankets and lawn chairs for this free, family-friendly event.
The display will start at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, at Perryville City Park.

Celebrate Independence Day with the City of Jackson Parks and Recreation Department.
Activities will include a 5K walk/run, a car show, food vendors, a mud volleyball tournament, beer garden, and live music by Brandon Bates and the Jackson Municipal Band. The celebration will conclude with a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. at Rotary Lake. Admission is free and open to the public.
The celebration will take place in Jackson City Park on Friday, July 4, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The soldiers of Fort D were very patriotic. On the national holiday, they would celebrate by firing their rifles and cannon and flying their flags proudly. Celebrate the birth of our nation with local living history reenactors at Fort D. The 1861 Woodruff gun, a veteran of the Civil War, will be fired on the 4th. The stone building, with its interpretive displays of life during the Civil War, will also be open.
Admission is free.
Downtown Poplar Bluff will host its annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 4.
Events and activities will be available for the whole family, including a parade, live music, food vendors, and a fireworks show at dusk.
The parade will start at 9 a.m. with floats lining up at 2801Cheshire Blvd. Fireworks will start at 9 p.m. Most activities will be located across from the Black River Coliseum at 301 South 5th Street in Poplar Bluff.

The City of Cape Girardeau will honor our nation’s birthday at the 2025 Great American Fourth of July celebration at Arena Park.
Experience a spectacular fireworks show and tribute to our country featuring food trucks, patriotic music by the Cape Municipal Band, speeches from local dignitaries, and more!
Lawn chairs are welcome, and parking is available throughout the park.
The grounds at Arena Park will open at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 4. Patriotic Music will start at 7:30 p.m. The Southeast Missourian Spirit of America Award and remarks begin at 8:00 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 8:45 p.m.

The City of Cape Girardeau will host its annual Parks & Rec Day on July 9.
This free, kid-friendly event will include ice cream, prizes, crafts, games, and more. Vendors will be on-site, and kids will have the opportunity to hang out and take pictures with the PLAYMO mascot.
The 2025 Parks & Rec Day will take place Wednesday, July 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Osage Center in Cape Girardeau. Registration is not required.
