Two-Minute Drill: SEMO Baseball Competing at NCAA Regional

SEMO Athletics

SEMO Baseball will face the No. 12 national seed Ole Miss at the NCAA Regional in Oxford, Mississippi on Friday, June 4. First pitch is set for 7 p.m., CT at Swayze Field. The game will air live on ESPN3.

Senior left handed Dylan Dodd will take the mound for the Redhawks in the opening game tonight vs the Rebels. Dodd was named to the Second-Team Collegiate Baseball All-America team. He’s the only player in the OVC to earn Collegiate Baseball All-America honors.

Ole Miss is also the top seed in the regional, while the Redhawks are the No. 4 seed. Southern Miss (37-19) is the No. 2 seed and Florida State (30-22) is the No. 3 seed. The Redhawks are guaranteed a second game on Saturday; their time and opponent will depend on today’s results.

SEMO, the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference regular-season and tournament champion, makes its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and first in five years. The Redhawks previously made the NCAA Tournament in 1998, 2002 and 2016.

The Redhawks enter NCAA Regional play after winning six of their last eight games and 19 of their previous 26 contests.
