Birding for Alzheimer's and Caregivers
Birding for Alzheimer's and Caregivers
The Missouri Department of Conservation will host Birding for Alzheimer’s and Caregivers on May 11.
Getting outdoors, interacting with nature, and learning new skills can have positive benefits for individuals living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. This event will include tips for using binoculars, identifying bird songs, using field guides, and a slow-paced, gentle walk at the Nature Center.
Birding for Alzheimer’s and Caregivers will take place on Saturday, May 11, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Cape Girardeau Nature Center. The program is free and open to persons with early-stage dementia and their caregivers.
This is a cooperative program with the Greater Missouri Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
