Saul Williams is a mutli-talented true artist and his music is passionate, declarative, and intellectual. His latest album is titled MartyrLoserKing and in an NPR interview he shares that it is the first branch of a multimedia project.

I often say that I like browsing music by record label, and We Were Never Being Boringhas been bringing a lot of amazing vibes my way. This week we're playing a couple of tracks from shoegazers Crescendo.

Ra Ra Riot would rather not be referred to as "indie" or "baroque pop"but honestly, what you're imagining those terms to imply is probably spot on, and that doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the band at all.

For those who came here looking for Chelsea Wolfe's Tiny Desk Concert, get ready for some thunder

Good reads from this week includes a write-up of The Grammys from Pitchfork that reminds me I'm not missing anything by not watching live TV, and a piece in The New Yorker profiling Ben Ratliff's book "Every Song Ever."

Left of the Dial airs Friday nights from 9-11 and Saturdays from noon-2 on KRCU.
