Cape Central High Puts on Anne Frank

Students at Cape Central High School are set to break in their new theater facility with The Diary of Anne Frank. The facility was finished in the past year, and they have big hopes for their first production.

Students and faculty alike are excited to put their resources to the test, and they couldn’t think of a better way to start off than with a historic play. Speech and Drama teacher Ed Cole is directing the play. He feels the choice is as much symbolic as practical.

“It goes back to our technical director Joe Bradshaw, who is a history teacher here at Central as well. He had always talked about a production they did of The Diary of Anne Frank,” Cole said. “The audience was captivated by it, and so these kids kind of grew up thinking of this show as one of the greatest shows you could perform in.”

Cole says he thinks they are as well prepared as they can hope to be, and looks forward to opening night.

“These kids kinda grew up thinking of this show as like, one of the greatest shows you could perform in. So when we had to come up with a show that was a non-musical, this was a natural choice, and they all wanted to give it a shot,” Cole said.

The show will run from April 11-13th.
