Two-Minute Drill: Baseball Announces 2020 Schedule

Southeast Athletics

Southeast Missouri Baseball will play a 56-game schedule with 32 contests at Capaha Field during its upcoming 2020 season.

The Redhawks open the season on the road at Louisiana-Monroe on Friday, February 14. Opening Day at Capaha Field will be Friday, Feb. 21 against Northern Illinois. Other non-conference opponents to visit Capaha Field this spring include Ohio University and Ball State; regional rivals Arkansas State, Saint Louis University, and Southern Illinois; and SEC opponent Mizzou.

Mizzou will visit Capaha Field for the first time since 2006 for a two-game series on Tuesday, March 23 and Wednesday, March 25. The Tigers are coached by former SEMO head coach and alumnus, Steve Bieser.

During the offseason, Capaha Field received several major renovations. New amenities include chairback seating in the grandstands, a first-base plaza, a Home Run Deck in right field, and a private Dugout Club. Following the renovations, admission to SEMO Baseball games will require tickets. General Admission tickets will cost just $5 each game, and discounted season ticket packages are also available.

Chairback seating in the grandstands will be available on a first-come, first serve basis to all general admission patrons. Seating on the Home Run Deck will also be available to all fans unless it has been reserved by a group. Fans are welcome to bring blankets and lawn chairs to Capaha Field for the first-base hillside.

Sugarfire Smokehouse will return to Capaha Field and provide concession services at all SEMO Baseball games, including an expanded menu and beer sales.

No outside food or drinks will be allowed inside Capaha Field gates at any home games, but SEMO Baseball will continue the tradition of hosting several promotional Tailgate Days, with free food and beer for the first limited number of fans.

A complete schedule of Tailgate Days and other promotions will be announced at a later time.
