Two Southeast Missouri Area Collegiate Softball Teams Advance In Championship Tournaments

Three Rivers Lady Raiders After Beating Crowder College 4-1 May 8th.

Collegiate softball in Southeast Missouri is heating up. Last weekend, Southeast Redhawks Softball took home the 2021 OVC regular-season title during a doubleheader.

Thursday, the Southeast Redhawks garnered an 11 to 2 win over Jacksonville State, in what was the first game of the OVC Conference Tournament.

On Friday, May 14th, at 10 a.m. they will advance, and take on the winner of the Eastern Kentucky and Austin Peay game.

This weekend, Three River’s College Campus ‘Lady Raiders’ softball team also advances-- to the NJCAA Division 1 Midwest District Championship tournament.

 

The team started their winning streak last April when they became the Missouri Community College Athletic Conference Champs, and continued the run when they won the Region XVI tournament last weekend. 

 

The Lady Raiders will take on Indian Hills Community College in the championship beginning Sunday, May 16, at the J.D. Rains Field on the Three Rivers College Campus. 

 

The winner of the Midwest district series will advance to the Division 1 National tournament May 25-29 in Yuma, Arizona.

 

Games in the best of 3 series will be at noon and 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, and continue at noon Monday, May 17, if they advance.
