Southeast Missouri softball student-athlete Rachel Anderson, and baseball student-athletes Justin Dirden and Tyler Wilber, have been selected to the 2020 Academic All-District Teams selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
The Academic All-District® program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Anderson boasts a 3.80 grade point average in Family Consumer Sciences & Education, and t the time the season was cancelled due to COVID-19, Anderson was leading the Redhawks with a .480 batting average, 5 triples, and 19 runs scored.
Dirden is a General Studies major with a 3.30 cumulative grade point average as a Redhawk, and he was leading the Ohio Valley Conference in hits, home runs, RBI and total bases (63), and was tied for first in stolen bases at the time the season ended.
Wilber is a Social Sciences major with a 3.80 GPA, and on the field he boasted a .406 batting average with 26 runs, 12 RBI and a .696 slugging percentage. Earlier this year, Wilber was ranked the ninth best junior hitter in the country by DI Baseball.
Both Dirden and Wilber graduated with their Bachelor degrees from SEMO last weekend.
All three student-athletes earn first-team Academic All-District honors, which means they will all qualify for consideration on the Academic All-America ballot. CoSIDA Academic All-America teams will be announced in early June.
