Two-Minute Drill: Redhawk Gymnasts To Compete Nationally

Southeast Athletics

Four members of the Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics team will compete at the 2019 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships in Bridgeport, Connecticut, next weekend, April 12-14.

Anna Kaziska, Mackenzie Slee, Gabrielle Adams and Alana Fischer will represent Southeast as individual qualifiers at the National Championships.

First-year head coach Ashley Lawson said that she is excited for the student athletes to have the opportunity to compete for the chance to become a national champion, adding that the individuals representing SEMO will hopefully ignite a fire to reach Nationals next year as a team.

Kaziska, the 2019 MIC Newcomer of the Year, MIC Floor Runner-up, Second Team MIC All-Conference athlete on vault, has qualified for the all-around competition at USAGs. In addition, Kaziska will be representing SEMO this weekend at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, where’s she’ll be competing in the floor.  Kaziska ranks second in the conference and 18th in the South Central Region on floor with a regional qualifying score of 9.870.

Slee, the 2019 MIC Vault Champion and Second Team MIC All-Conference athlete on floor, will compete on vault and floor at USAGs.

Meanwhile, Adams will compete in the vault and Fischer will compete in the all-around. They both competed in the USGA National Championships last season, as well.
The USA Gymnastics Collegiate Championships is for Division I, II and III schools with less than seven-and-a-half full scholarships.
