Taking task forces to task: that’s the objective at hand for one Missouri State Representative.

Democrat Jon Carpenter of Kansas City has introduced a measure that would create the Missouri Task Force Task Force--an organization meant to manage and monitor the state’s task forces.

The legislative amendment also states the group will have to investigate the task forces currently active in Missouri to decide if they’re fulfilling their “statutory obligations.”

The organization will be set up with seven members, three of whom will be appointed by the governor, and the rest will be chosen by members of the House of Representatives and Senate.

The amendment was passed by the House on Wednesday.

If approved, the Task Force Task Force would exist till the end of 2020, when it would be terminated shortly after submitting its recommendations to the General Assembly.
