Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge Lanes To Be Reduced Throughout Summer Under MoDOT Repairs

Lindsey Grojean

Later this month, the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin work on the Route 74/Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge, with repairs slated to last throughout the summer.

From Tuesday, May 28 through Monday, Sept. 16, contractor crews will work on the metal joint connecting Route 74 to the bridge on the Missouri side.

Driving lanes will be reduced to a 12-foot width restriction for the project’s entirety.

Head-to-head traffic will be shifted to the eastbound lanes, as westbound lanes will be repaired first. Once completed, traffic will be shifted to the westbound lanes while the eastbound side is repaired.

The work zone will be marked with signs and other traffic control devices. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
