MoDOT Expects Chester Bridge Closure Tomorrow Due To High River Levels

Lindsey Grojean/KRCU

In response to high river levels, the Missouri Department of Transportation is expecting to close the Chester Bridge/Route 51 at noon on Saturday, June 1.

MoDOT says to seek alternate routes if you’re planning to travel across the bridge, which links Perry County to Randolph County in Illinois over the Mississippi River. They also recommend checking road conditions online with their traveler information map.

Officials will continue to monitor river levels and reassess as conditions change.

You can call MoDOT’s Customer Service Center at 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636).
