FBI Suspects Cape Girardeau Bank Robbery Hit Other Banks Along I-55

FBI

The FBI believes the same person may be responsible for robbing four banks along Interstate 55 since May 2013, including a bank robbery in Cape Girardeau.

In all four cases, the unknown subject used a demand note and did not show a weapon but implied he was armed. The “I-55 Bandit” is between 18 to 25 years old, between six foot and six-foot-three-inches in height, and thin with short brown hair.

He is suspected of robbing the First State Community Bank on Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau on May 21. He also robbed banks in Crystal City, Arnold, and Edwardsville, Illinois.
