Two people are dead and another is in the hospital following a shooting in Cape Girardeau.
Fifty-seven year old Mary Joseph and 18-year old Matthew Joseph are dead. Forty-eight year old George Joseph is being treated for a gunshot wound at a hospital.
Another family member notified police right before 8:00 a.m. Thursday morning. Officers found George Joseph first. They later discovered Mary and Matthew Joseph deceased inside the house.
Cape Girardeau police spokesperson Darin Hickey said the investigation is ongoing.
“Our crime scene investigators are on scene at this point and are processing evidence to let the evidence tell us the story of what happened,” Hickey said.
Hickey said everybody involved in the shooting is accounted for.
The shooting occurred in a residential neighborhood at 1220 West Cape Rock Drive.
