MDC: Fishing Lessons 1 & 2

Gain the skills necessary to go out fishing on your own through a four-part, hands-on instruction series with the Missouri Department of Conservation.

Fishing is a great way for kids and families to have fun outdoors, learn about conservation, and make memories. Instructor Evan Smoot will take you through casting, rigging a fishing rod, baiting a hook, and proper fish handling.

Fishing Lessons 1 & 2 will take place Thursday, September 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Nature Center and county park lake in Cape Girardeau. Valid fishing licenses are not required to participate.

The program is for ages 7 and up.
