East Ozarks Audobon Lesser Yellowlegs Program

East Ozarks Audobon Lesser Yellowlegs Program

The East Ozarks Audobon Society will host a special program about Lesser Yellowlegs at the Farmington Public Library on Tuesday, May 21.

The population of Lesser Yellowlegs, a shorebird, has declined 70% in the past 40 years. Kelly Srigley Werner and the Road to Recovery Initiative are working to reverse that trend.

Missouri’s bootheel region is an important refueling stop on the birds’ annual migration of 8,000 miles north in the spring and then 8,000 miles south as they return to their wintering grounds in the Caribbean.

Join us as we discover what the Road to Recovery Initiative is doing to engage conservation partnerships to help Lesser Yellowlegs thrive.

Social and Refreshments at 6:30 p.m.
Speaker at 7:00 p.m.

Free and open to the public.
