Dr. Aliyyah Abdur-Rahman of Brown University will present a lecture entitled “Race, Carcerality and the (Im)Possibility of Black Futures” to kick off the Faulkner and Ward Conference at Southeast Missouri State University. This talk will focus on Mississippi writers William Faulkner and Jesymn Ward.

The free lecture sponsored by the Center for Faulkner Studies will take place Thursday, October 20, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m. in Ballroom A of the University Center on Southeast’s Campus. A Zoom option will be available for those who cannot join in person.
