All About Cape: A Country Concert and a Bike Ride This Week

It’s a good time to be in town, with lots of thrilling events happening this week.

First up is a country concert at the Show Me Center on Wednesday, October 3.  Morgan Wallen and Jameson Rodgers get the party started at 7 p.m. with their chart-toppers “Whiskey Glasses” and “Some Girls.”  Then Luke Combs takes the stage for the "Beer Never Broke My Heart" tour.  Relatively new on the scene, the North Carolina native first made waves with the single “Hurricane.”  Several CMA, CMT and Billboard Music Awards later, fans still love his beautiful, crazy sound and rowdy performing style.

After the concert gets you pumped up, you’ll be ready to take on a challenge, like the Tour de Cape bike ride.  Kicking off downtown at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 5, the event offers four trail options catering to any level of experience:  15 miles, 30 miles, 60 miles or 100 miles.  Each route promises stunning vistas of Cape in its autumn glory.  Not a biker?  Cheer riders on while sipping a latte or savoring a treat from one of our downtown eateries.

The weekend winds down with Cape’s Downtown Tailgate Flea Market on Sunday, October 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Main Street.  More than 150 vendors bring unique items of all sorts, so you’re sure to find something that complements your style.  Several downtown businesses are open during the flea market as well, from boutiques to art galleries to restaurants.  It’s an ideal way to explore Cape Girardeau, indulge in treats and find a few bargains.
