The Southeast Wind Symphony, "Don Quixote" and More Coming to River Campus
They say April comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, but at the River Campus, we’re anything but sheep-like.
First up: tomorrow night you can take in the last performance of the Southeast Jazz Band for the season. Students perform this swinging concert led by Joseph Jefferson.
On Saturday, the Moscow Festival Ballet returns to the Bedell stage with Don Quixote, which presents the timeless story of Don Quixote in a ballet based on the world-famous novel by Miguel de Cervantes. Set in the 1600s, the story is a classic comedy featuring fancy footwork, authentic Spanish-flavored dance and comic interludes bringing to life the escapades of a Spanish hidalgo and his trusty squire Sancho Panza.
Next Tuesday, hear the talented students of the Southeast Wind Symphony in its final concert of the season led by Marty Reynolds. The program titled "Hot and Spicy" should heat up your spring to keep you warm until the ensemble returns this fall.
And don’t forget, the BFA Graduating Senior Exhibitions continue each week at the River Campus Art Gallery featuring the body of work students developed throughout their last two semesters of coursework in their area of specialization. You can visit with them at receptions each Friday at 5 p.m.
If you’re a River Campus season ticket holder, renewal notices should be making their way to you soon.
