"Gone Girl" comes out nationwide on Octobre 3rd.

Tickets for the first screenings of “Gone Girl” in Cape Girardeau are now on sale, as announced by Wehrenberg Theatres’ Cape West 14 Cine today.

Pre-sales are available for the 10 p.m. October 2nd premiere as well as for four daily showings between October 3rd and 5th. Prices may vary and tickets can be purchased either online on Fandango and Wehrenberg websites or through the Cape West 14 Cine box office.

The release of the movie is much anticipated in Cape Girardeau where part of the feature film, starring Ben Affleck and directed by David Fincher, was shot last year.

Stacy Dohogne Lane, director of public relations at the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau, expects a huge turnout.

“Judging by the amount of buzz that’s been going around Cape Girardeau in regard to the opening of ‘Gone Girl,’ I would anticipate that we are going to have a very busy movie theatre during that weekend in October,” Dohogne Lane said.

She added that they hope to literally roll out the red carpet for the entire community during the opening weekend of “Gone Girl”. The “Gone Girl” planning committee is still planning the event but Dohogne Lane said there should be some special extras at the theatre during the opening weekend that people will not get to see anywhere else.

“We're hopeful there will be some fun things like a red carpet, and a cool backdrop to take your picture in front of, as well as search lights and everything,” detailed Dohogne Lane.

As the release of the movie comes closer different events and activities are scheduled around Cape Girardeau to celebrate the filming, and more details will be released soon.
