Two-Minute Drill: Athletics Announces 2020 Hall of Fame Class

SEMO Athletics has announced the 2020 Athletics Hall of Fame Class. 

Lance Brune was a four-year football letterman at SEMO, where he started at quarterback from 1970-73. Brune, at one time during his career, set or tied seven school records. After graduation, he signed as a free agent with the NFL's St. Louis Cardinals.

Edgar Jones was a First-Team Associated Press and Second-Team Sporting News Football All-American following his senior season at SEMO when he led all of Division I-AA with 12 sacks. He played seven seasons in the NFL with the Ravens, Chiefs and Cowboys.

Sherry Mitchell claimed All-MIAA women’s basketball honors in all four of her years at SEMO and holds program career records in games played (123), assists (639) and steals (335). Mitchell helped lead her teams to the NCAA Division II Tournament all four years, including the finals in 1990-91.

Lana Richmond coached the SEMO softball program for 32 years, compiling an 884-710-4 record. Her teams won five Ohio Valley Conference regular-season titles (1995-1999), five OVC Tournament titles and made five NCAA Tournament appearances.

Lorenz C. "Red" Williams was SEMO's first full-time athletic trainer and worked in that position for 16 years. Williams has previously been inducted into the Missouri Sports and Missouri Sports Medicine Athletic Trainer Halls of Fame.

Finally, the 1986-1987 SEMO women's basketball team put together an overall record of 26-4, won the program's first outright MIAA title with a 13-1 mark and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament.
