Explore Nature and Enjoy the Outdoors in Cape Girardeau

Visit Cape

Spring is here and it opens up the outdoors to us and our young ones.  The Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center has a variety of interesting activities where you and that special person can explore pollination, tadpoles and plant germination that may be living right in your own yard.  Learn from the naturalist and then, go home and do a little exploration and uncover the plants and animals there.

Missouri is home to many different species of plants; there are some plant species in Missouri that are classified as endangered or rare.  Take some time and find out about some of Missouri’s beautiful hidden gems and their place in our natural landscape.  After hearing about all of the plant life you may be ready to explore the area and take a hike on one of the many nature trails in White Oak Trace.  There you will be able to view some of the plants along the trail.  It’s up to you if you spend an hour or the day.  If you need a break there’s a very interesting tree stump chair just for you at various points along the trail!

After enjoying the great outdoors you are more than likely ready for a nice wholesome meal.  Cape Girardeau has just about any culinary experience you may grave.  Enjoy a meal at the restaurant of your choice.
