Junior Anna Kaziska represented Southeast Missouri women's gymnastics with a pair of stellar performances on floor and beam last weekend at the 2021 NCAA Salt Lake City Regional.
Kaziska, a Louisville, Kentucky, native registered a 9.900 on floor in the opening rotation Friday, which finished tied for second in the session.
Kaziska's 9.900 on floor is her highest routine at a NCAA Regional, edging her 9.825 posted in 2019 at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional two years ago.
She also recorded a 9.875 on beam in the final rotation of the session. The mark tied for fifth in the session. Kathy Johnson Clarke stated on the ESPN3 broadcast that Kaziska "has such soft landings" on beam.
The Redhawks host the 2021 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships this weekend at the Show Me Center. Team finals and the all-around competition will be held Saturday starting at 2 p.m., while individual event finals will take place Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
The two-day Championships will feature gymnasts from five Division I, Division II and Division III colleges and universities and will determine the national team, all-around and individual event champions and medalists. These teams include Centenary College, Lindenwood University, Texas Woman's University, the United States Air Force Academy, and SEMO. This is the first time that SEMO has qualified as a team for the chance to win the USAG National Championship.
Spectators are allowed to attend the event, with social distanced seating measures in place inside the venue. Tickets are available online at GoSoutheast.com or at the Show Me Center on the event days.
