Special Guests, Including Voice Actress Veronica Taylor, Will Appear At Cape Comic Con This Weekend

Cape Comic Con

Cape Girardeau will be expecting its annual flood of superheroes, space rangers, and comic book fans alike.

That’s just the cosplayers who will be attending Cape Comic Con this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Osage Center.

Cape Comic Con director Ken Murphy says the convention is in its 14th year, and the numbers have only grown - from 400 attendees in its first year to 4900 in 2018.

There is something for everyone at the event, Murphy says, including gaming opportunities, 140 vending tables, voice acting workshops, miniature painting, and one of the “largest costume contests you’ll find.”

He says he thinks the variety of interests, the opportunity to engage those interests, and a chance to see some of their favorite things in pop culture on a large scale is what draws people to the event.

“You can go to a game store or a comic book store, and that’s what you have. You have the one individual store. So maybe magnify that by about a hundred,” says Murphy.

Celebrity guests will be exhibiting on the showroom floor, and will also take part in a question and answer session.

The guests this year include voice actress Veronica Taylor, original ‘Black Power Ranger’ Walter Jones, wrestler ‘Road Warrior Animal’, artist Greg Land, ‘Yellow Power Ranger’ Karan Ashley, actor David Fielding, and ‘Eddie Munster’ from The Munsters, actor Butch Patrick.
