There are very few guarantees in life but change is definitely one of them.
The past couple of weeks have brought massive changes to the world. The coronavirus situation has been a game changer not seen in a century – or maybe longer. Public health is in question and the economy is taking an unbelievably major hit. Throughout the world, mitigation efforts vary but they are all significant and have completely disrupted daily life.
We recognize the health of our citizens is the #1 priority for all so we are absolutely in agreement to follow the guidelines of the White House, the CDC, the Governor, and the County Health Department. With that top priority recognized, let me address some things for our local community.
For our citizens, prepare but don’t panic. Practice social distancing, don’t overbuy at the grocery stores, have impeccable personal hygiene, and stay home if you don’t feel well or display any flu like symptoms. But please, look for ways to continue to support our local businesses. Many LOCAL businesses from grocery stores to retail and specialty stores offer online shopping. Many more will be offering drive by pick up. Restaurants are gearing up for larger drive through customers and pickup and delivery services.
For business owners and their employees, the federal and state government are examining ways to lessen the impact this pandemic will have on you both short and long term. We will lead the effort to continually monitor and distribute timely, relevant information.
