Going Public: A Conversation on the Black Lives Matter Movement

Dr. Shonta Smith is an assistant professor in the Department of Elementary, Early and Special Education at Southeast Missouri State University.

The Black Lives Matter movement  pushed the conversation of racial injustices with law enforcement against African Americans into the national spotlight. Assistant Professor Dr. Shonta Smith from the Department of Elementary, Early and Special Education at Southeast Missouri State University, is a supporter of the movement. Smith, who teaches courses on diversity joined KRCU's Marissanne Lewis-Thompson in the studio to talk about the movement.
