Codefi's Stacy Dohogne Lane On Their Part In A New Upskilling Initiative For Rural America

From 2010 through 2016, digital jobs had the fastest wage growth rate and the second-fastest job growth average. Because of this, Codefi’s Stacy Dohogne Lane says making sure that we’re equipped with digital skills is “one of the very best ways” to prepare for what the future of work is going to look like.

15% of the workforce in America are working in digital jobs, but here in rural America, that number is only 5%.

“That gap is not good for our communities,” says Dohogne Lane. “If we can get more digital workers working on those skills here, we can help get rid of that gap and make sure those dollars stay here.”

Codefi is partnering with the Center on Rural Innovation (CoRI) and Udacity to try and solve this problem through “The Future is Digital Challenge.” This initiative will bring free online courses to the Cape Girardeau and Paducah areas, covering fundamentals in digital marketing, business analytics, and front-end development.
