Cape-Based Cajun Restaurant, Broussard’s May Start Expansion To Paducah In Early 2020

Broussard’s Cajun Restaurant in downtown Cape is looking to open another store in Paducah, Kentucky. The original Broussard’s, which was located at 120 North Main Street, moved to its current location just down the street in early 2016, where they intend to continue business.

Wanting to find the middle ground between corporate and family-owned restaurants, Broussard’s current owner, Hunter Clark, says he has been anticipating the expansion for quite some time.

“I had Marion, IL come to me and say ‘We’ll give you a free building if you come over here.’ And we had Carbondale talking to us with some really good incentives,” says Clark. “Paducah came to us many years ago just the same - not a free building, but they had really good ideas and help to get in and get going.”

The 33-year-old restaurant currently only has one location, which serves authentic Cajun cuisine to locals and travellers.

Clark says that within the next few years, Broussard’s restaurants could begin popping up in other places in the region. He emphasized that despite the expansion, Broussard’s will still maintain its easy-going, fun atmosphere for both customers and employees alike.

While there is still much left to do, development plans for the new Paducah location are tentatively set to take place in the spring of 2020.
