Thursday, Apr. 30 // Virtual Visiting Artist Stephanie Alaniz @ Southeast Department Of Art

Artist Stephanie Alaniz

The Department of Art and Design and Catapult Press at Southeast Missouri State University will host their first virtual visiting artist on Apr. 30.

Emporia State University art instructor, Stephanie Alaniz will present a lecture via Zoom to discuss and explore their work. Alaniz received their Bachelor of Fine Art from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in 2016, and a Master of Fine Art from West Virginia University in 2019. Alaniz is a self-described “fat artist fighting socially created beauty-norms” and is working to break down the “stigma towards fat bodies, general fatphobia, and normalizing insecurities.”
